Our important strategy is the reinforcement of overseas business, and we, at the International Division, are enforcing and expanding overseas operations and nourishing overseas bases to develop international network. We have established local subsidiaries in China (Shanghai) and the United States (California), and in recent years, we have also established branches in Korea and Taiwan and a local subsidiary in Singapore. In addition to establishing subsidiaries, we participate in subsidiaries in China (Lianyungang and Guangzhou) and Thailand in the form of investment. In various ways including the above, we make efforts to strengthen our international foundation.

In particular, we are actively consolidating foundations in the Asian sphere, and we aim to build new businesses in the future in countries such as Vietnam and India, where the market is expected to expand. As part of such efforts, we have established a joint venture in Japan for export and import transactions of various products with Vietnam. Through such overseas networks, we utilize the most recent information from all over the world and information about Japanese companies expanding overseas, and promote the research, examination, launch and deployment of new businesses.

As we continue to explore the world, we will keep on actively promoting overseas operations, and contribute to the company’s commitment to steady growth and development.

For our overseas transactions, the six divisions: Plastics, Chemicals, Light Metal, Inorganic Materials, Electronics Materials and Living Essentials & Environment are in charge of their own operations. We, at the International Division, provide appropriate support and advice to the six divisions on expanding their overseas transactions and on compliance regarding importing and exporting management, and security trade control. As the center of our company in overseas transaction management, we give them advice as to how to conduct fair and honest business operations respecting laws, commercial practice and lifestyles overseas that are different from ours, and to be a company that contributes to the local community.
