| May 1947 | Established as a primary distributor directly affiliated to Showa Denko K.K. and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. The main purpose was domestic sales and import of chemicals and fertilizers. |
| 1953 | Branched out into the production field and started production of unique organic fertilizers in the Kawasaki Works. |

| 1972 | Under the guidance of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, aggressively entered the chemical field such as starting production and sales of stable isotopes. |
| August 1976 | Merged with Shoei Kogyo Co.,Ltd., a unique trading company specialized in chemicals dealing with industrial chemicals, aluminium, ferrous alloy, electrodes, abrasive materials, petroleum, mineral products, construction materials, machinery, etc., and newly established as Hikari Kogyo Co., Ltd. Conducted active operations as a general trading company of Showa Denko Group. |
| June 1981 | Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. |
| August 1982 | Changed the company name to SHOKO CO., LTD. Transferred the headquarters to Nishi-shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, to promote the efficiency of management, while actively promoting the business of high-value-added products and advanced technologies, such as fine chemical products, new-ceramic electronic materials and precision instruments. |
| 1987 | Merged with Shoko Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Showa Denko K.K. Entered into building contractor businesses and various insurance agency businesses. |
| April 2000 | Merged with Kyodo Light Metal Trading Co., Ltd. to further expand the aluminium business and build a more efficient structure. |
| July 2000 | Transferred the headquarters to Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo. |
| May 2005 | Took over the pole business from Showa Alumi Viewtech Co.,Ltd. |
| November 2007 | Spun off the insurance agency business as a separate company, SHOKO Insurance Service CO.,LTD. |
| January 2008 | Spun off the fertilizer business as a separate company, SHOKO Agri CO., LTD., combined our synthetic resin product business and the business of our subsidiary CHEMICO JAPAN CO., LTD., and spun off the business of the sales of synthetic resin products as a separate company, SHOKO PLASTIC PRODUCTS CO., LTD. |
