Plastics Division
The Plastics Division handles a wide range of commodities, most notably general purpose olefin, engineering plastics, compound resin, and elastomers. Its primary focus is eco-conscious recycled plastics and biomass plastics, and global expansion of its handling of overseas resin raw materials. The division is capable of handling each year an inventory of more than 200,000 tons, from raw materials and products to items for recycling and reuse. It leverages this strength to develop solution businesses extending product life cycle. Its sales channels extend throughout Japan, of course, but also to China, Taiwan, South Korea, and parts of Southeast Asia, especially Thailand. The division is thus well placed to respond to customer needs while keeping an alert eye on market changes.
Plastics Dept.
This department supplies a wide variety of plastics essential to industries and consumer living, especially polyethylene and polypropylene.
The PE (polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) handled by SHOKO CO., LTD. has many admirable qualities, including light weight, excellent strength, and outstanding chemical resistance properties. The department is therefore continuing to promote further use of these commodities, for food containers, ubiquitous packaging materials such as grocery bags, beverage containers, household electric appliances, household items, palettes, containers, and automotive parts.

Biodegradable Resin
We harness the action of microorganisms to create a resin that eventually biodegrades into water and CO2. The resin is transformed into a mulch film for farmers. Previously, after using plastic film on their fields, farmers were faced with the chore of disposing of it, but this mulch film is helping to eliminate that problem.

Biomass Plastics
Polymer materials obtained through chemical or biological synthesis include recyclable substances that originate in organic matter. The Plastics Department supplies biomass resin made from plant material, for use in the manufacture of many different products, such as food containers and grocery bags.

Recycled Plastic
Recycled plastic cuts down on the use of crude oil, reduces garbage, and is durable too. We have developed a system for collecting unwanted vehicle fenders and other plastic parts from the manufacturers of automotive components, to be recycled. The product is sold as recycled plastic.
