From our establishment to the 1970s

1947 May

Established Hikari Kogyo Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Nishi Hatchobori, Tokyo) with the support of Resonac Corporation (at the time, called Showa Denko K.K.) and Ajinomoto Co., Inc., to market chemicals and fertilizers in Japan while also importing and exporting them.

1950 January

Opened Osaka Office (now Osaka Branch)

1957 March

Opened Nagoya Office (now Nagoya Branch)

1958 August

Established Dairi Ryomo Agri K.K.

1962 June

Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

1973 September

Established Mie Kasei K.K. as a venture to recycle and process synthetic resin materials

1975 March

Established Kosan Building Services Co., Ltd.

1976 August

Merged with Shoei Corporation, a wholly owned chemical trading company of Resonac Corporation (at the time, called Showa Denko K.K.)

Changed company name to SHOKO CO., LTD., and moved headquarters to Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Merged with Shoko Corporation, a wholly owned real estate and insurance agency enterprise of Resonac Corporation (at the time, called Showa Denko K.K.)

Effected an absorption merger of Shoko Kagaku Kogyo K.K. and Yokohama Kagaku K.K.

Acquired stock of Shoko Highpolymer Co., Ltd. (formerly Sato Shoko) from Showa Kobunshi K.K. (A consolidated subsidiary today)

Established Shoko Science Co., Ltd., to manufacture and market analytical instruments and related products.

Established SI Science Co., Ltd., to manufacture and market stable isotope compounds, to market related instruments and consumables, and to promote consigned analysis business.

2010 April

Partial transfer of owned shares in Shoko Plastic Products Co., Ltd. to Musashinosangyo Co., Ltd. Group

December

Established Shoko Korea Co., Ltd. and Shoko (Taiwan) Co., Ltd., to market a wide variety of raw materials and commodities. (A consolidated subsidiary today)

Established Shoko (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (formerly Shoko Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd.). (A consolidated subsidiary today)

2012 September

Acquired 100% of shares in Nitto Koji K.K. (Liquidated in December 2020)

2013 February

Acquired 65% of shares in Showa Denko Alumi Hanbai K.K. from our parent company Resonac Corporation (at the time, called Showa Denko K.K.) (A consolidated subsidiary today)

2014 January

Established Shoko Electronics Co., Ltd., to manufacture and market visible and infrared LED elements, and to process manufacture and market integrated circuits using silicon.

Acquired 100% of shares in Be International Corporation.

2016 October

Science system operations devolved to Shoko Scientific Co., Ltd.

Shoko Scientific Co., Ltd. effected an absorption merger of SI Science Co., Ltd. and changed the corporate name to Shoko Science Co., Ltd. (A consolidated subsidiary today)

2017 April

Transferred all owned shares of subsidiary Shoko Electronics Co., Ltd. to Resonac Corporation (at the time, called Showa Denko K.K.)

December

Liquidated Shoko Singapore Pte. Ltd. (with transfer of its business operations to Shoko (Thailand) Co., Ltd.).

2018 July

Effected an absorption merger of subsidiary Be International Corporation.

2019 February

Subsidiary Shoko Agri Co., Ltd. effected an absorption merger of Dairi Ryomo Agri K.K.
