SHOKO CO., LTD. began operating under a new management structure in 2022. In May that year we celebrated our 75th anniversary, and looked toward the future with a fresh start.
The chemical and plastic segments of our business represent one of our sources of strength. These sectors are large and stable in Japan, and continue to grow in other parts of the world, especially China and Southeast Asia. Stability is also shown in markets dealing with aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Demand in Japan is also trending upward, propelled by growing social demand for reduced environmental load.
The global trend toward decarbonization extends across industrial sectors, and new fields are opening up, such as for bioplastics, next-generation energy, green aluminum, and more advanced recycling technologies. These markets will evolve more dynamically in the future, and our company believes that promising opportunities for business growth await. This is certainly true for us as a trading company, dealing in chemicals, plastics and non-ferrous metals, enjoying a solid customer base among manufacturers for decades.
