- When was Shoko founded?

In May 1947, we were established as Hikari Kogyo Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Nishi Hatchobori, Tokyo), with the support of Showa Denko K.K. and Ajinomoto Co., Inc., to market chemicals and fertilizers in Japan while also importing and exporting them. (That name was changed to our current one in August 1982.) For further information on our company's history, please go here.
